Dr. Jessie Zak

Jessie Zak M.D. M.S.

My story begins back when I was a child with a stethoscope and an overwhelming desire to take care of others. Decades later I still haven’t outgrown that childhood dream.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, I originally came to California for the residency program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) focusing on specialized care for infants, children, teens, and young adults. My experience there shaped me into the physician I am today and ultimately inspired me to set roots in LA and commit to helping children in this community (my love of sunshine and the outdoors helped also!).

I am board certified in Pediatrics and received my medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. After graduating, I received a Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics with a specialization in Complementary and Alternative Medicine from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. To broaden my training further, after residency, I practiced within the Emergency Room at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, treating and caring for children with colds to critical illnesses. This specialized training has helped me take a global view when treating each individual patient, combining traditional allopathic pediatric medicine with knowledge of alternative therapies to achieve optimal health in all areas of life including nutrition, lifestyle and disease prevention.

This year I have transitioned to full-time at Westside Pediatrics. The personalized care and relationships I have with patients and their families is unparalleled. I currently live by the beach and enjoy exercising, staying active with my dog Miller, and trying new restaurants.
