Dr. Carissa Gustafson is a licensed clinical psychologist, author, and perinatal mental health specialist based in Los Angeles. She specializes in helping individuals navigate infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, postpartum, and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adults throughout California via telehealth.
Dr. Gustafson is Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI), has advanced training in pregnancy and infant loss, and holds a mental health certification through the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). She is also a founding therapist at Lavela, a virtual reproductive mental health practice specializing in fertility, pregnancy, and reproductive loss.
Her work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and self-compassion, helping clients develop psychological flexibility and resilience during some of life’s most challenging transitions. She is the author of Reclaim Your Life: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in 7 Weeks and the creator of Reclaim Your Life After Birth, an ACT-based self-paced online course for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
