Music Video Parody Fights “Mom Shaming”
NEW YORK, NY – May 2017 – A powerhouse group of prominent influencers in the mom blogger world gather in New York City to produce a new music video parody encouraging fellow mothers and highlighting the epidemic of “mom shaming” across social media.
The brainchild of New Mommy Media's Sunny Gault, the video, a parody of Meghan Trainor's “No,” is produced by the moms behind Moms Pump Here, MomCaveTV, and Real Mommy Confessions, with special appearances by Brown Media Mama, Mommie Pickles, Suburban Wife City Life, and Betsy V.
Tired of judgments about how moms choose to feed their babies, Sunny and the gang of mamas sing, dance, and joke their way through the parody, which was released today. Though the video pokes some fun at the subject, the influential moms behind it feel this is a serious issue. “Mom shaming isn’t just about hurt feelings. The guilt moms feel when they’re told they’re not feeding their children the “right” way, can negatively impact their relationships and even trigger postpartum depression.” says Gault.
With this video, the moms hope to raise awareness about mom shaming and feeding choices. “What is right for one family may not be right for another. Informed choices lead to the best outcomes for mamas and babies. Whether you breastfeed, bottle feed, or some combination of the two, it's the love behind it that counts,” says MomCave's Jennifer Weedon.
The moms in the video encourage everyone to #SupportAllMoms.
