Shawn Bissonnette
Pediatrician
Shawn J. Bissonnette, MD graduated with honors from Stanford University, received his medical degree from the University of California-San Diego (UCSD), and completed his internship and residency training in Pediatrics at UCSD and Children’s Hospital-San Diego. He has been in private practice in San Diego for thirty years and has been based in Scripps Ranch since 1998. Dr. Bissonnette is the father of four children and is awaiting the birth of his first grandchild in August. His is one of the very few independent, private Pediatric practices remaining in San Diego County and his office motto is “Traditional, personal care in an HMO world.” As a Pediatrician, his greatest reward has been the establishment of close, long-term relationships with his patients and their families and he has chosen to continue in that type of practice despite the outside pressures which have created the impersonal environment of managed care medicine which exists today.
