Andrea Knox

Marriage and Family Therapist

Andrea Knox is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in San Diego focusing on maternal and postpartum issues, couples, and EMDR therapy. She works with couples and individuals to create more satisfying relationships, adjust to pregnancy and parenthood, overcome anxiety, depression, and postpartum disorders, and move past trauma, blocks or destructive patterns.

Andrea is a former board member and current volunteer with the San Diego Postpartum Health Alliance, a non-profit organization providing education and support for perinatal mental health. She became passionate about maternal and postpartum mental health after her own experience as a new mother and now has two children. She believes that creating a postpartum plan for supporting parents should receive just as much attention as creating a birth plan. See her blog post on creating a postpartum plan. Andrea provides group therapy for pregnant and postpartum mothers and also offers Bringing Baby Home workshops for new and expecting couples to strengthen their relationship during the transition to parenthood.
